Well here we are, the end of another year. It’s been a bit of a crazy one for me personally, as I’m sure it has been for the rest of you as well. Despite the turbulence, it’s been a really interesting year for Arma. Reforger released out of the blue, and we subsequently ran our first Reforger mission. In terms of directly for SAEF, we continued our tried and tested format of Regular Mission Tuesdays and Deployment Thursdays, which worked out quite well for the sanity and capacity of our mission makers. We ran several successful campaigns and introduced some new mechanics. Some of these were hit or miss in terms of your reception, but from my perspective we had a largely good time. We ran our usual set of special missions, one of which included the refactor of an entire mod’s code (looking at you zombies), humble brag - 6541 additional lines of code and 16186 deletions is what led to that performance improvement in part 2 of our Halloween mission. The website has seen incremental improvement as well, some of which you will see below with the breakdown of the year in terms of stats, attendance and awards. However, because of this I managed to significantly lighten the load on myself and everyone who wants to track our stats going forward - work smart or something like that…

I want to thank everyone for their involvement this year. What we do wouldn’t be possible without you guys, but more importantly, without the hard work of our dedicated admin team, all of whom do this for free I might add. 

So a few final special mentions:

• Fritz - For being one of the best mission makers a fella could ask for, and an absolutely incredible all round admin, handling absolutely anything thrown his way with impeccable efficiency (must be the German blood).
• Johny - For being an absolutely capable and reliable member of the admin team. Always ready to get out there and do what needs to be done to make things happen. You were the best bet we could’ve made on including in the admin team, you really have grown.
• Jono - For fielding any and all HR requests we threw his way. You may not be the most tactful of us, but you pretty much always have a plan and you’re willing to follow it through - which is a skill not all of us possess.
• Nittori - For being there when we needed him, but not a second longer. Your contributions are always welcome and often very necessary. Your cool head and calm logical thought process have saved us a fair amount of trouble. While we know your priorities have shifted, and rightly so, there will always be a place for you here - and your little-one has an all-time “Yay” pass for our missions.

…anyway, I’m not going to ramble on any further. Have a SAEF holiday season, and we’ll catch you all next year!
