Background

Several weeks ago, what began as a localised outbreak of the common cold on the island of Altis suddenly turned deadly. Those who became sick presented with standard flu-like symptoms for about 2 weeks before suddenly losing control and attacking nearby people in a frenzy. All attempts to reason with these people failed, as they began to violently react to the presence of anyone else around they would go so far as to tear them apart. Naturally, to avoid a panic, this was kept under wraps for as long as possible, non-local journalists were turned away from the island as a quarantine was enacted to avoid infected individuals slipping out to the other islands or mainland. The internet was shut locally, and cellular signal disabled. The first outbreak occured on the South Western side of the island 3 days ago, around the town of Zaros. As the first to succumb to the sickness, they were also the first to turn... Chaos ensued. The sick (but not turned) were shuffled to the major hospitals in Kavala, Molos and Pyrgos. The remaining civilians were taken quickly and the national defence forces response was lack-luster. Much of that area was lost. Given the sudden violence, it was decided that the best course of action would be a full evacuation of the island. The nearby island of Malden was contacted, briefed, and agreed to pledge assistance in the form of Military Forces and Asylum for all evacuated Civilians. With the arrival of their forces, the evacuation of Altis begins...

Mission

As members of the MDF (Malden Defence Force) we are tasked with evacuating Civilians from the island of Altis. Our primary area of focus will be the mostly destroyed South Western portion of the island. We have made radio contact with several groups of civlians in the area who managed to avoid both the infected individuals and the fighting that took place there around 3 days ago. They have been informed to mark their positions with red flares to make it easy to identify their locations. We are to investigate all areas where we recieved communication from the Civilians and safely evacuate them to the Altis International Airport. There they will be screened for the infection, and if clear, moved to Malden.
